www.google.com - is one of the best search engines to search for topics generally. Try this for any research topic – putting ‘UK’ at the end usually helps e.g. ‘poverty uk’.
www.guardian.co.uk - this is the site of the Guardian newspaper, which is packed with useful stuff.
www.bbc.co.uk - the BBC. Widely regarded as one of the best websites in the world, you’re bound to find something useful.

Sociology for schools and colleges

www.sociology.org.uk - an excellent sociology site created for GCSE, AS and A-level students, and run by Chris Livesey.
www.atss.org.uk - the site of the ATSS (Association for the Teaching of the Social Sciences). You will find a range of material, including worksheets, notes, and a list of websites of use to sociologists.

www.statistics.gov.uk - the site of the Office for National Statistics, which contains a huge range of contemporary data on all the topics covered in this book.
